Hawrelak Park is located just west of Groat Road on the south side of the North Saskatchewan River. |
The Heritage Amphitheatre provides plenty of shelter from rain, so unless the weather is truly awful you'll still have a great theatre going experience. We do recommend patrons equip themselves with a blanket at evening performances - not only because you can skip the seating and sit on the grass to watch the shows, but also because the air can get chilly once the sun goes down. You can check today's weather here, and you can contact us directly at freewill@telusplanet.net if you have any questions about attending outdoor theatre.
Routes 128 and 130 will take you to the gates outside the park Follow the main road straight ahead to the northern edge of the parking lot, and then through the parking lot towards the Amphitheatre (a big white tent - You can't miss it! ).DATS services for those with restricted mobility are available through ETS.
Go south on 116 Street until you are 1 block south of Jasper Ave. Then go west down Victoria Park Rd, taking the right-most turn towards the University. After crossing Groat Road bridge, take the first right and follow that road as it splits to the right.
If you are coming by bike or roller blade, take the bike-path on the west side of Groat Road and 107th Ave.
Go north on 114th St, or west on University Ave, 87th Ave or Saskatchewan Dr. Then follow Groat Road to the north, and follow the posted signs before crossing the bridge.
If you are coming by bike or roller blade, we suggest following the bike path that leads west on Saskatchewan Drive (along the north edge of the University campus).
As you enter the park, you'll see a large parking lot. A newly paved path on the south end of the parking lot leads to the Amphitheatre.
Hawrelak park has a NO pets-in-the-park policy.
